Holly & Billy

There’s something about London weddings - the pace, the movement, the mix of old and new. So chic and always brings such a good party. Billy and Holly’s day felt like that from the very beginning. Effortless, emotional and full of energy in all the right places.

I photographed their day using both digital and 35mm film photography. You'll spot the film photos within the gallery by the unique tones and visible borders.

Holly got ready at The Ned, before heading to Old Marylebone Town Hall for their ceremony. One of those iconic London spots that never really loses its impact, no matter how many times you see it.

A ceremony that felt like them

The ceremony itself was quietly emotional, nothing too over the top, but very personal. Candles to decorate the room. The Best Man on piano. Really gorgeous personal vows, that accidently mirrored each other.

The way Holly walked in. The way Billy held it together… until he didn’t. And one of those moments that stays with you was Holly’s dad, visibly tearful, trying to keep composure and not quite managing it. Those are always the moments that matter most. Not staged. They always have me tearing up behind my camera.

The in-between reactions and the subtle shifts are what I look for, rather than any crafted photo list. The moments that pass quickly, but hold so much meaning for so many years to come. I always find that the second you're trying to choreograph a moment, it flips the other way and takes the people out of that moment, reducing the real emotion. My advice is to find a photographer who totally understands your general aesthetic and priorities, but beyond that, just trust them to capture your moments, so you can really live them and I promise you'll be able to see the difference in the gallery.

COuples portraits

Straight into the city

Afterward the confetti moment and group photos, everyone piled onto a classic red bus across London to Battersea Power Station. Cocktail tinnies handed out to get the vibes started and a rare sighting of santa on roller skates. Again - it's the small details you just can't plan for, that make the day unique.

The kind of entrance you don’t forget

By the time everyone arrived at Control Room A Battersea, the energy had completely shifted.

Cocktails were flowing, guests had settled in and then the saxophonist playing.

Billy and Holly didn’t just walk into their wedding breakfast. They danced in. The band leading it, guests already on their feet, the whole room immediately lifted.

Suddenly it’s not a formal sit-down, it’s a party from the start. And it carried through the rest of the evening perfectly.

Letting the day unfold

Everything flowed from there. Speeches, dinner, then straight back into it.

We stepped out briefly later for a few more portraits after dark with flash for just 5 minutes - and they're some of my favourite from the day!

Inside, it stayed busy. Champagne tower, full dance floor, no real lull.

The moments that stay

When I look back at this day, it’s not just one thing...

It’s the emotion in the ceremony.

The classic London red bus

The real openness of the speeches and the love in the room, between friends and between family.

The entrance completely setting the tone for everything that followed.

Oh and not to forget the stunning bespoke Tom Ford velvet blazer suit and Half Penny London dress! What a classic match,

Billy and Holly added little personal moments throughout - like a pie cutting instead of a cake, as a nod to the family business and a champagne tower to kickstart the dancefloor. But they didn’t overcomplicate anything, keeping it about their story and their love, which everyone could feel.

The perfect London wedding.
